Amigos de Yachana-huasi

La primera vez que escuché acerca de amigos de Yachana-huasi, fue por mi madre. Después descubrí que a través de los años y con la ayuda de mucha gente, ?La Escuelita? había mejorado enormemente tanto en sus infraestructuras así como la gestión diaria. Es allí cuando me di cuenta que yo también quería formar parte de la gran familia Yachana-huasi. Si no fuera por la educación que recibí de mis padres, yo no sería la persona que soy ahora. Es por esto que quiero aprovechar esta oportunidad para decirles cómo la pequeña ayuda de ustedes puede hacer la gran diferencia para los niños de la Escuela Galo Vela Álvarez.

De la misma manera que se pueden hacer donativos económicos, también se puede hacer lo que hice yo, ir a ?La Escuelita? y dedicar parte de tu tiempo a esos niños, ya sea enseñando Inglés o simplemente compartiendo con ellos tus conocimientos y educación.

El tiempo que pasé en ?La Escuelita? fue fantástico y cuando llegó el momento de marcharme, fue muy duro para mi tener que decirles adiós. Cada uno de los niños tenían muchas ganas de aprender y muchos deseos de saber más acerca del mundo exterior. Ellos me brindaron su amor incondicional y su respeto desde el primer día que los conocí. Viniendo de un país europeo como el mío, fue abrumador ver lo poco que esos niños tienen y aun así, lo felices que son y como siempre te sonríen. El último día en la escuelita invité a todos los niños a ir a un parque, sólo me costó $10, no me podía creer la alegría que les había dado con este pequeño gesto. Si puedes hacerlo, te recomiendo de corazón ir a visitar la escuelita. Esos niños necesitan tu ayuda y apoyo, ya que sus familias apenas se arreglan para sacarlos adelante y no tienen la posibilidad de darles una educación académica. Personalmente tengo muchas ganas de volver a verlos y disfrutar más tiempo con ellos.

The first time I heard about the Amigos de Yachana-huasi was from my mum. I then found out that through the years from the help and donations of many people the school had improved enormously in it's infrastructure as well as in the management and every day running of the school. That's when I knew that I also wanted to be part of the big Yachana-huasi family. If it wasn't for the education that my parents provided me I wouldn't be today the person I am now. It is for this reason that I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit of how you could help to make a big difference for the children at Escuela Galo Vela Alvarez the school.

As well as donating money, you can also, like I did, go and spent some time with the children at the school. Either to teach them English or to share your knowledge and education with them.

My time at the school was fantastic and when my time was up it was very hard to say goodbye. Each and every child is extremely eager to learn and yearns to find out more about the outside world. They loved me unconditionally and respected me from the first day I met them. Coming from a first world country, it was overwhelming for me to see how little these children have yet how happy they are and how they always smile at you. On my last day at the school I paid for all the children to go to a park-it only cost me $10 and I couldn't believe how much joy I brought to them with such a little gesture. If you can and are able to, I would highly recommend you to go and visit the school. These children need your help and support because their own family are just managing to get by and are unable to provide an academic education. I personally can't wait for the day to see them again and spent more time with them.
